The Brief
The website we created with Australian Marist Solidarity (AMS) is a project we are proud of on so many levels. AMS is the agency for the aid and development work of the Marist Province of Australia, with ongoing projects throughout Asia and the Pacific Islands that aim to support the most disadvantaged young people, particularly in helping them gain an education and future opportunities.
AMS works with local communities in countries including Timor Leste, Fiji, Cambodia, Vietnam and Bangladesh on a combination of long-term and short-term development projects.
Design & Strategy
One of the core aims of the website is to make it extremely easy for people to donate to specific projects, or to become an ongoing supporter of the organisation and its work.
User Experience
As a humanitarian organisation, the people are squarely in focus in the presentation of each project and the overall site. These images, coupled with a clean and uncluttered look, build trust and engagement for visitors. It strongly captures the approach of the organisation of being focused on putting maximum resources into its aid projects.
Outcome
The result is a website that has both an inviting appearance and a strong theme of cultivating awareness in visitors about the different countries, their people and the challenges they face. Navigation is simple, with layers of information, each one logically partnered with the “donate now” option.
Of course the site also needs to have top-notch secure payment systems working behind the scenes, and be easy for AMS to maintain with ongoing news items, blog updates and other information as it arises.
