Training is delivered in the form of online video tutorials and creative templates. These assist photographers with their marketing, social media engagement and sales collateral.

Problem

Challenge

Like many small businesses, Newborn Posing started out with a self-built website. But rapid growth meant that more customised features were needed to provide their training to more consumers.

  • The brand and website design did not reflect the target audience and quality of product.
  • The existing website did not make it easy for site admins to create new product pages.
  • It was hard for customers to login and view the range of products they had purchased.
  • The product library was difficult to navigate and there was zero search functionality.

Strategy & Approach

The website was redesigned to elevate the existing brand and attract the right audience. A darker, moodier design was adopted, which was competitively unique and reflected Kelly Brown’s creative style.

The data structure of the site was completely reorganised to greatly improve user experience. The admin team could easily add new product, new site visitors could effortlessly search for products, and existing users could readily access their purchased content.

Result

Final Experience

The new website is snappier, and ultimately provides an enhanced user experience for customers and site admin.

For customers, a new login area called ‘My Library’ houses any new purchased items. This is easily filtered by product, content type, categories and there’s also a search bar. That should do it!

For site admin, new product page templates have been created to make it quick and easy to create new product pages. The back-end of the site has been completely customised. Admin simply add content to fields that clearly relate to various sections of the page, hit publish and the page is generated. Too easy!

Technical Improvements

Site performance was poor due to the client’s outdated database of customers, purchase orders and products. This was given a good clean out, deleting unused entries and making a number of performance improvements behind the scenes. Vroom, vroom!

 

Adopting technology to improve efficiencies

The website is now hooked into Newborn Posing’s Vimeo account behind the scenes. When a new video series is created, the list of videos can be automatically imported into a product, including the title, thumbnail image, and description. This saves many hours of manual work. And time is money!
