Strategy, web design

PaySmart, a market leader in Direct Debit solutions for business, quickly demonstrated to us that what makes their company tick was as much about personalised service as it was technology.

Challenge

Direct Debit is a service that could easily be portrayed by listing features.

But doing so would do PaySmart an injustice, as so much of the value they provide their clients comes from the service of a person, not simply an algorithm. For instance how valuable is it for a business to have a client’s late payment sorted professionally by a person? “Oh you were overseas? Let me just sort that out for you”.

How could we give visitors a glimpse of what PaySmart can provide beyond the pure handling of financial transactions?

Strategy and Approach

To best communicate the benefits, we determined that the context should be relevant to the visitor’s industry.

Funneling new visitors into a section specific to their industry allows you to speak much more directly to the prospect about how PaySmart can benefit them and the likely frustrations they are looking to solve.

Final Experience

The result is a site that shows PaySmart is about service first and foremost, and that facilitating transactions is only a small part of the value they offer.

We enjoyed working with the PaySmart team, creating not only a unique design and attractive aesthetic, but a well thought out and effective introduction for new visitors.

A professional design with flair

One thing you’ll quickly notice when scrolling the PaySmart site is the use of curves.  This was a feature of their branding we chose to incorporate in a big way. At the time, you didn’t see a lot of curves in web design because it makes life more difficult for the developers, and there’s a fair bit more to consider responsively on smaller screens. Luckily, our designers and developers are all ninjas!
