What to expect in the first deliverable
A lot of work goes into the first concept. Normally we begin with the home page of your website, as this is such a key page and usually has the most going on. Getting this right sets the scene for all other template designs.
Key messaging and the storybrand framework
In most website projects, icreate.agency’s strategists will recommend the structure of content for the home page relevant to your business goals, and will also recommend all the copy.
icreate.agency is trained in the Storybrand Framework, a marketing tool to help businesses clarify their message leveraging the power of story.
Design direction
Often your new website is a major piece of new marketing collateral and is often an opportunity to push the visual representation of your brand to the next level.
We’ll generally undergo multiple internal revisions and much discussion before we send you the first concept.
Why initial concept approval is such a key milestone
We don’t begin the design rollout of other templates until the initial concept is approved. This is because the initial concept does more than determine the exact layout and structure of the home page. It also sets heading styles, colours, typography, and a design style that will flow across the entire site. For this reason, we don’t begin designing additional templates until we have this locked away.
This stage can have a big impact on the overall timeline. We recommend providing prompt feedback on this concept, in particular, so we can progress into subsequent stages of development.
In addition to this important design phase progress, attaining approval of the initial concept also allows us to queue in a significant amount of development (coding) work – not just developing the home page, but navigation, header, footer, global styles, typography etc.
